Mitch and Amanda Mitchell

At 19 years of age Mitch put his trust in Jesus and soon after began sharing his new-found faith with others. He went on to work as a fitness instructor and served 16 years as a Firefighter before leaving in 2011 to focus on evangelism in Ireland. He is co-founder of Crown Jesus Ministries, author of Snatched from the Fire (IVP) and Director of Compassion Ireland. He holds a MA in Applied Theology.  Outside of his passions for Evangelism, church planting and leadership; Mitch has a love for curries, coffee and Chelsea FC.

After being brought up attending church and encouraged to make her own choices about faith, Amanda became a Christian at the age of 17. Her passion to see others grow personally and reach their full potential in Christ underpins all that she does. Amanda was appointed as C.O.O in September 2020 and brings a wealth of experience managing staff in the retail sector for over 22 years and of course is no stranger to Crown Jesus Ministries being a silent co-founder and supporting the ministry as a volunteer from its conception in May 1999. She loves to read, go on long walks, watch a good crime series and support the mighty Tottenham Hotspur

They have two children Noah and Megan, a border collie called Mollie and a chicken called Patsy.

Beyond the Walls

Guest

JESUS in big lettersThe Gospels give us a brilliant picture of a compassionate and fearless teacher who was loved by many but made enough enemies to suffer an early death at their hands. Later, the apostle Paul wrote about him like this:

Colossians 1:15,17
He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation... and in him all things hold together.

These words give us a starting point for our new series, exploring JESUS in big letters, searching the Scriptures for as complete a picture of Him as we can find. But a picture only hangs on a wall and looks nice. The real JESUS is actually calling His followers to be like Him, not to be two-dimensional images looking nice, but 3D human beings, living like He did! That’s some challenge – but it is what we are being transformed into!

Romans 8:29
For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn, with many brothers and sisters. NLT

2 Corinthians 3:18
And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. NIV
